Overview

CARE is committed to providing learning opportunities for young professionals seeking practical experience in logistics. The supply chain (logistics) department plays a key role in ensuring smooth operation functioning, fleet management and warehousing management.

The logistics Intern position is designed for a recent graduate interested in developing practical logistics and organizational skills in a humanitarian setting. The intern will support the logistics Department in daily tasks and gain exposure to logistics management systems and procedures.

Purpose of the Internship

The internship aims to help the intern gain on-job experience in providing support to the logistics team in daily operations to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently and on time, while gaining practical experience in supply chain and operations management.

Key Learning Areas and Support Tasks

  • Learn in tracking shipments and receiving them on time at the organization's warehouses.
  • Learn in preparing and managing logistics documents (invoices, orders, permits, etc.).
  • Learn in archiving all logistics documents such as invoices and vehicle movement papers.
  • Participate in periodic inventory operations and support inventory management.
  • Communicate with internal departments (procurement, finance, program departments) to coordinate work and requests.
  • Learn in preparing reports related to supply chain performance, logistics operations, and vehicle rental reports
  • Learn and support the logistics team in maintenance follow-up operations in the office.
  • Learn in preparing fleet reports and following up with drivers.

By the end of the internship, the logistics Intern is expected to:
Understand the structure and daily operations of a logistics department in a humanitarian organization.

  • Gain skills in office operations logistic support.
  • Develop organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Demonstrate improved confidence in professional correspondence and teamwork.

By the end of the internship, the Data Management Assistant Intern is expected to:

  • Understand the structure and daily operations of an administrative department in a humanitarian organization.
  • Gain skills in office communication, documentation, and front-desk management.
  • Develop organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Demonstrate improved confidence in professional correspondence and teamwork.

Internship Qualifications

  • Recent graduate (within the last two years) with a degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Word and Excel).
  • Good communication skills in Arabic and English.
  • Eagerness to learn and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to CARE’s core values and safeguarding principles.
